Office Breakfast Party

Cheese-danishes, raspberry scones,
OJ, cream-cheese, and fruit,
Bagels, coffee, creamers and sugar-packets to boot!
In temperate zones,
With swelling checkbooks
And new-fangled, impassive looks
We workers eat our fill,
Chat about nonsuch and bills,
Until time moves too slow --
Mid-morning's struck,
Email's run amock,
And mailings must go --
We pull everyday faces,
Clean up the mess,
Sit productive behind desks.
