My Job

One of the duties of my current job entails receiving documents from one person who sits across a kind of reception area, and walking those documents to a designated mail delivery spot a few paces away, on top of a cabinet directly in front of the person's desk who first gave them to me.

Another duty consists in answering phones and 1)alerting the intended recipient about the call, or 2) taking messages when they're busy. Transferring a caller to a recipient's voice mail from their own line can be tricky!

Another task: photocopying. This can entail removing stables and reattaching them later, as well as keeping original and duplicate documents in order.

Occasionally I fax (is this verb intransitive?). I botched this once when I accidentally put the document in the machine upside and the person received 3 blank pages. It was embarrassing.

I do also manage a schedule (paper and electronic, thank you) and occasionally 'mine' info from a database. One of the meetings on the schedule has been pushed back repeatedly -- in merciless fashion -- and the paper version doesn't always agree with the electronic!
