The Metro just keeps comin' back with articles scrutinizin' SEPTA in its front pages, and I can't resist posting them. (They've even set up an email address where you can send your 'dirty station stories' to them - DirtySEPTA@metro.us! This is why I love the free press.) Reading between the lines here, I'll extrapolate and say that things like a lack "direct contact" between city government and SEPTA's board were the status quo (which is mind boggling, considering that this is single agency responsible for transporting people through the city.) That is the real Philly system -- everybody does his or her own thing to get his or her own piece, and they'll keep doin' it that way until enough people get pissed off, because they can. Hopefully to become a thing of the past!
