At least one politician's honest about his thoughts on race

I completely agree with this statement: It's "a shame the nation couldn't have an honest discussion about race that didn't end in recriminations."

Also the stuff about the "Bradley effect" and the way the white voters will lie to pollsters so that they don't have to say "I'm not voting for him because he's black," is hilarious. It goes right to my point the everyone is so goddam 'nice' to each other every second of the day that you never know what they really feel ....

Let's hope that if Obama's receives the nomination (at this moments it looks like he can win the support of all demographic groups -- but what about all those white people voting for Clinton right now?), Democratic voters are more 'mature' than they were in the 1980s -- and will at least have the self-respect to honestly report who they want to vote for.

But I'm not holding my breath.

p.s. What the governor expresses here touches on my greatest fear of an Obama candidacy -- that white votes aren't 'ready' to vote for a black (or racially mixed -- as the case may be) president, and unwittingly usher another Republican into office.
