Has anyone considered the fact that there may be more constructive ways to spend government money than giving every taxpayer a $600-something check?
Of course, I'm not an economist -- I know consumers account for 2/3s of the economy and that the measure's designed to stop a recession, but can't all our college-educated lawmakers come up with a better long term plan to halt the economic downslide?
Mine as well say it: capitalism.
What about using the money to subsidize food prices or gasoline, or granting interest-free loans to home buyers -- something along those lines?
"Where's headin' towardz re-ceshion -- stocks iz goin' down, no people can't no buy no homes no maor. I knowz, let's give'em all some a dat cash stuff, watchamacallit -- some a dat moaneey!"
I mean, I won't complain about scorin' extra funds. If I spend the money on porn websites and weed does that help the economy? (Probably porn does).
